Well, 2014 is over. Another year is here. Can you believe it?
For us it was a great year with some exciting news, fun times, some big challenges and alot to look forward to as a result. No doubt our biggest news of the year was deciding to adopt another little boy from South Korea. Things are in process and we hope the wait isn’t as long as they tell us (18-24 months). The kids also learned to ski this year and we plan to go back early 2015. We are also looking at home schooling in the future which could be new and exciting as well. They are all doing great in school and great at piano too. My wife’s sister and her family moved to Iowa to end the year. Business provided some challenges and another good year of learning and growing. Our dog Charlie was on Animal Planet show Bad Dogs! He’s hilarious. Max is still kicking at 16 though he’s blind as a bat. The GOP took over the Senate finally. Maybe we can slow down this man called Obama. The Dallas Cowboys made the playoffs with a great, unexpected season. My Baylor Bears will be in the Cotton Bowl tomorrow and won the Big 12, along with the hated TCU frogs. Sad news of the year was certainly Robin Williams death. :(. The holidays were great and I already can’t wait for next year. For now, let’s kick some butt in 2015!
Wow. Is 2014 already over???? Really??!?!
Amazing huh. What a year too, right? GOP wins Congress, Cosby mess, Obama scandals, ISIS, North Korea, Robin Williams death, airliner disappears, my friend’s daughter Reagan James nearly wins The Voice, Jimmy Fallon takes over Tonight Show, and Cowboys have won more than 8 games finally! No to mention we are adding a 4th child to our family! Crazy!
I love the holidays. No matter how bad thing are, Christmas and what it means always makes it alright.
The Cowboys might win tomorrow and put themselves in the playoffs. Santa is coming in a few days and Kevin the Elf will return to the North Pole once again. New Years will follow and then here we go again with another year behind us and another out in front.
Bring on 2015!
Yea. I went to Baylor and I am a proud Bear. I also have lots of ties to TCU and know many Frogs feel the same way I do.
We both got the shaft in this new version of football “playoffs” brought to you by the wonder-boys of the NCAA.
Today this mysterious playoff committee chose the first 4 teams to ever enter into the new college playoff system. Four teams. Yep. Four. Baylor finished 5th, and TCU finished 6th in the rankings. Go figure. Nice and convenient for them too. The nice guy schools (public and private) aren’t liked by most and it’s only fitting both teams get left out of the final mix. Baylor and TCU both sit at 11-1 with major wins over top ranked programs all year long.
Yet, rather than college football being a real sport, with a real playoff system, just four teams get selected by a group of people, and they picked the likes of the big schools; Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State and Oregon, leaving the Bears and Frogs hoping for a nice pat-on-the-back bowl bid.
This is why I prefer the NFL. Any given Sunday applies once the playoffs start. Any given Saturday only applies to March Madness when it comes to the NCAA however.
This must be fixed and must be fixed immediately. Set up a real tournament with 8-10 teams. Then you can know you have the best of the best fighting it out for the championship. Until then, the Bears and Frogs can hold nothing more than their lame “co-champions Big 12” trophies.
