What Set Baby Jesus Apart

The Angel said to Joseph …”you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Luke 1:21)

No other spiritual leader. No other religious icon. No other system guru. Not Gandhi. Not Muhammed. Not Buddha. Not Confucius. Not Krishna.

None of them had the mission to “save their people from their sins”.

Only one in the history of history came with the purpose to be a Savior to those that had no means to save themselves.

I don’t know about you, but this 2020 Christmas Eve, I’m certain of two things. One, if the world ever needed saving 2020 is the year for it. Two, I certainly sin and unless you’re the next Baby Jesus, you’re right there with me.

When the angel spoke to Joseph late one night, he became the first man to understand just who his baby was going to be. Unlike any before him or any after, this baby was going to save the world from itself. No need for mindless acts of prayer 3 times a day facing towards mecca…no need for trying earn your way to heaven by riding a bike around in a suit and tie for two years…no need for hoping you’re been a “good enough person” to earn your spot in eternity…no need for the lies of scientology, worthless hours of cross legged meditation, or the misguided thoughts of “secular relativism”.

Jesus would be and is all we all need. He did it all without you, but he did it all for you.

All you have to do is believe.

Merry Christmas.
